FRESNO, Calif. — Daniel Davidson tossed six strong innings to lead the Salt Lake Bees to an 8-1 win over the Fresno Grizzlies on Saturday night.

Davidson (3-0) allowed just one run on four hits with a season-high five strikeouts and just one walk for the win. Francisco Rodriguez worked two scoreless innings and Jeremy Hill kept Fresno off the board in the ninth to close out the game.

The Bees took the lead with two runs in the second on an RBI triple by Nick Gorneault, who later scored on a throwing error by Fresno pitcher Eric Hacker. They would add two more in the fifth on run-scoring singles by Mark Trumbo and Gorneault. Salt Lake would plate one more in the sixth and break the game open with three runs in the ninth.

Gorneault led the Bees with two hits and three RBIs.
