TOOELE COUNTY — Firefighters were using all-terrain vehicles to monitor a 350-acre brush fire burning in a remote area in Tooele County Wednesday.
The area is wet from recent rains, which have left roads muddy and prevented trucks from reaching the fire, said Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Brenyn Lohmoelder.
Officials used an aircraft to assess the fire from above, but the blaze seems to be remaining calm, Lohmoelder said.
The fire was reported Tuesday night about five miles south of Dell, and crews will continue to watch the situation, Lohmoelder said.
Thanks to rain in the area, crews hoped to contain the fire Wednesday night.
