Log Haven's "Dog Days of Summer" gives people a chance to dine with their dog. Guests with well-behaved dogs are seated in Log Haven's outdoor amphitheater from 5:30-7 p.m., where they can order from the seasonal menu. Complimentary Dog's Meow natural dog biscuits and water dishes are provided for the dogs.

Wing Nutz Restaurants are sponsoring a "My Dad Is Nutz" competition for Father's Day. The 2010 Downtown Farmers Market at Pioneer Park opens June 12, at 300 South and 300 West. The market features fresh produce from more than 80 Utah farmers and a variety of locally produced breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, jams, honey, beverages, house and garden plants, and handmade arts and crafts. "Around the World in Seven Days" is a fundraiser hosted by local restaurants June 14-20. During the week prior to World Refugee Day on June 20, the restaurants will offer a nightly special created by the restaurant's chef and a refugee community leader. When the dish is ordered, the restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Utah Refugee Coalition and its joint Salt Lake County Pathways to Self Sufficiency program. Whole Foods Market now has as scoring system for rating the nutrient density in foods, called the Aggregate Nutrient Density Index (ANDI) scale. The scores are displayed in each store department.

In addition, The Whole Foods Marketat 645 E. 400 South will host a Healthy Eating Fair the third Saturday of each month, with sample recipes for foods with high ANDI scores. On June 19, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., the store will offer tours and cooking demonstrations for those with diabetes and blood sugar issues.
