WASHINGTON — With six months left in his term as U.S. senator, Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah, is getting a new press secretary.

Tara DiJulio, who has served as Bennett's communications director since February 2008, will join the staff of Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., on June 28. Wicker has four years remaining in his first term in the Senate.

"It has been an incredible honor to represent Sen. Bennett over the past few years," DiJulio said in an e-mail Tuesday.

Andrea Candrian, who has been serving as deputy press secretary, will take over press communications on June 18.

DiJulio's pending departure marks the third of Bennett's staffers to take jobs elsewhere, though she is the first senior staffer to leave. By the end of the year, Bennett, who was eliminated by delegates during the Utah State Republican Convention, will shut down his office to make way for a new senator from Utah.
