In Sunday's Deseret News was an article in the Viewpoint section titled: "Tobacco taxes help fund terrorist groups," by Deroy Murdock. He says that we should lower these taxes to remove incentives for terrorist groups to counterfeit tobacco tax stamps. Using his logic we need to stop printing money to remove incentives to counterfeit money. We need to ban ATM machines as terrorists use them to transfer money. We need to outlaw credit cards as terrorists use them to fund their illegal activities. You can follow his faulty logic and come up with hundreds of things to quit using. As you think about it, Murdock's proposal is asinine.
