AUSTIN, Texas — Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints honored the memory of their ancestors Saturday in East Austin.
The Pioneer Days celebration commemorates the day in 1847 when Mormon pioneers entered Salt Lake Valley.
The pioneers had spent months walking across the country, using hand carts to carry their belongings. The event featured a parade and replicas of the hand carts.
