Jean Ida

Rauscher

Lampropoulos

1931 ~ 2010

Jean Ida Rauscher Lampropoulos (YAYA), born in Hamilton, Mass. to Frederick and Matilda Rauscher March 29, 1931 - July 24, 2010. Married Peter Charles Lampropoulos on Nov. 30, 1948. Surviving children - Fredrick Peter Lampropoulos, Dean Charles Lampropoulos and Mona Jean Johnson (Lampropoulos), grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 18.

Jean Lampropoulos passed away July 24, 2010 peacefully at her home. She was surrounded by family members throughout her struggle but died peacefully Saturday at 9:02 p.m.

In months prior to her passing Jean had expressed to her family and friends her desire to have the suffering over and to depart and be with the lord. She fought a long and courageous four-year battle with cancer and her grace and strength reflected to all who knew her through the end of her earthly stay. We are all grateful to have had her as long as we did, and are at peace that she is now in the lord's presence.

Jean was married to Peter Lampropoulos for 42 years. Jean and Peter Lampropoulos moved from Ipswich, Mass. with their three children to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1961, and then to Salt Lake City in 1963. Together they then worked closely with their sons as a family to build a successful insurance general agency in Salt Lake City. Jean worked tirelessly in building their business and still always made time for her family.

Jean lost her husband Peter Lampropoulos in Aug. 1988 but still remained the strength of her family with Sundays always devoted for family get togethers for her children and grandchildren. Sunday pool parties were a strong tradition with the Lampropoulos family and she continued with these traditions every Sunday, until her illnesses overtook.

Jean (YaYa) was her family's core and a strong leader.

A constant social magnet, Jean bowled in her league every Friday, loved playing cards and met frequently with friends for a game of canasta. No one could match her and Peter on the dance floor. Her friends always surrounded her and everyone enjoyed her sense of style and her high-spirited personality. She basked in the beauty of God's great outdoors and traveled whenever she could with her husband Peter and with her children. Fishing was a passion as was gardening and no one grew more beautiful flowers.

Jean and Peter were fortunate to visit many places around the world while married and had a great love for each other.

Holiday traditions were very important to Jean and she made every holiday special with large family Christmas dinners with visits from Santa for her grandchildren. There was always Halloween, 4th of July parties and 24th of July celebrations. Jean loved to spoil her grand-children and great grandchildren. Birthday dinners and BBQ' were

always celebrated. She always made the time to spend with all of them whenever she could and was proud of each and every one of them.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kent C. DiFiore, MD. and his staff at Utah Cancer Specialists of Salt Lake City as well as to all Symbii Hospice staff and nurses. Also special thanks to and the staff at Home Instead nursing care. To all of you, your devoted encouragement to our family and care made a huge difference and we all are forever grateful.

Mother your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs; Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will

always love and cherish you.
