SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Community groups are rallying behind a proposal to anchor a Salt Lake City arts district under one roof.

The groups have banded together to create the Utah Film and Media Arts Coalition to create a showplace at the shuttered Utah Theater.

The Salt Lake Film Society and Spy Hop Productions are among groups behind the effort.

A developer has sold Main Street's Utah Theater for $5.5 million to the city's Redevelopment Agency.
