NEW YORK — While the Mountain West Conference was holding its football media day at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Utah's future league mates were in the Big Apple. The Pac-10 began a bicoastal media tour by meeting with the national media in New York City.

Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott introduced a new logo and branding effort that includes a new conference web site (www.Pac-10.org).

"With our universities and students on the cutting edge of innovation and digital media in their research, studies and daily lives, we think it's appropriate that the Pac-10 lead the way in using these new media and technologies to more effectively bring our competition and stories to our fans," said Scott, who also confirmed that the league will officially become the Pac-12 when Colorado and Utah join the conference.

All 10 of the conference's head football coaches attended the event. They'll visit ESPN headquarters in Connecticut on Wednesday before completing the league's media tour at the Rose Bowl on Thursday.
