Chadwick "Chad" C Clarke

Chadwick "Chad" C Clarke, 78, of Orem, Utah passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Golden Living Assisted Center in Orem, Utah.Chad was born March 30, 1932 to Hardin Hyrum Clarke and Laura Matilda Gardner Clarke in Burley, Idaho. He attended various grade schools in southeastern Idaho, going to high school at Bear River High School in Garland, Utah, where he was active in drama productions. Chad lived most of his live in the Salt Lake area, living in Saratoga Springs, Utah for a time in his later years. Being an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an important part of his life. He served two missions as a young man. In 1951, he served in the Frankfurt Germany (West German Mission) Mission and in 1956 he served in the Northwestern States Mission, headquartered in Portland, Oregon. He was also a temple worker at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for many years, and also served as a part time missionary at Temple Square. Chad worked at Thikol for a few years and worked in Salt Lake area in construction and in real estate investing. In his free time, he enjoyed buying and selling art, symphonic music, and playing the French horn. He was always was very generous with his friends and family.

Chad is survived by his brother, Hal (Mary Ann) Clarke of Provo, Utah; sisters, Fauntella Nielson of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Colleen Sorensen of American Fork, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chad is preceded in death by his parents.

The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Provo LDS Church on the corner of 2950 North and Canyon Road in Provo, under the direction of Aspen Funeral Home in West Valley City, Utah. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelly, Idaho.
