Dwain Baich

1918 ~ 2010

Papa" returned to our Heavenly Father on August 11, 2010. He passed away peacefully knowing the love of his family and friends.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand-father.

Dwain was born November 9, 1918 in Midvale, Utah to Mike and Sophia Baich, immigrant parents from Yugoslavia. He grew up in the mining town of Sweets (Price), Utah with his two brothers and three

sisters.

He served his country in World War II as an US Army drill sergeant. He provided for his family as an

Industrial Electrician. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing and hiked with unwavering stamina.

He married his wife of 66 years in South Carolina and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1963. Dwain was baptized into the LDS Church with his son Mike in 1961. He remained a faithful member of the church and served in numerous callings including High Priest Group Leadership.

Papa will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dwain is survived by his wife, Bernice Mayhew Baich, son Michael (Cathy), daughter Colleen Johnson (Newell), eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters Katie Borden and Mary Lou Lawson. He is preceded in death by parents, step father Rudy Penovich, and siblings Nick, Steve and Helen.

A viewing will be held Monday, August 16th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the East Millcreek 16th Ward House, 3408 S. Celeste Way (3126 East). Funeral services will be held at the Ward Chapel at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 17th, with a viewing at 10:30 a.m. prior to services. The Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. 7800 S.
