Mary died August 8th, 2010, in her home in the loving care of her family.
She was born May 25, 1928, in Salt Lake City, UT. As a teen, Mary participated in the Civil Air Patrol. She graduated from East High School in 1945. She retired from the US Postal Service. Mary has traveled the world where she experienced many adventures and befriended countless people with her sharp wit and easy sense of humor.
Mary leaves behind seven children Lynda Stanko, of San Jose, CA, Stephen Matern, Sherrie (John Sylvester) Flint, Craig Matern, Susan Cornia, Kevin Matern, and Kerry Matern; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and brother Lew Beddow.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; husbands Eugene Matern and Farrell Howe.
We will miss you with all our hearts and know you are planning good times and adventures for us when we meet again.
A private family gathering was held prior to cremation.
