PROVO — An American Fork woman was arrested after police say she put blood in her urine sample in hopes of getting prescription medications.

A doctor who had been treating Tina Archuletta at American Fork Hospital Monday night suspected that she had altered a urine sample to get prescription medications, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court. The doctor told police Archuletta had been searching through the garbage and she had taken two empty narcotic vials from a container in the room.

When police questioned Archuletta, she admitted she had put blood in her urine sample to alter the test, the affidavit states.

She was booked into jail for investigation of fraud.
