PROVO — A semitrailer hauling frozen food tipped over Wednesday morning on State Street, taking out several power poles and knocking out power to the area.
The large truck was attempting a left turn at 300 South and State Street just after 5 a.m. when the vehicle went too wide, tipped and fell onto its side, said Provo Police Capt. Cliff Argyle.
"He did not navigate the turn properly," he said. "It takes out a power pole that snapped off and pulled at least three other power poles over."
Power was out for about 4,000 customers in the area due to the accident. All but about 200 customers had powered restored by noon.
The driver suffered a minor leg injury. There was no indication of drugs or alcohol being factors, Argyle said.
The complete cleanup effort at the intersection was expected to take several days.
