The atheists fought for the right to be treated equally and won in court. Down with the crosses! Or is it maybe not so simple?

Make no mistake about it. Public display of Christian symbols was not ruled unconstitutional, just their favored status. This means no special treatment for Christian symbols and beliefs. The simple solution is to offer grieving families of fallen Utah Highway Patrol troopers a choice between a 12-foot cross or a 12-foot monument to atheism, perhaps a sign declaring there is no afterlife and no hope of any reunion with the departed loved one. There, see? Equal treatment.
