Florence Jacobsen Davis "Nana" HUNTER- Florence M. Davis passed away on August 26, 2010. She was born August 18 in Denmark to Anders Jacobsen and Anna Elise Maria Sorensen. Married Martin Charles Schwab; later divorced. Married Elvere R. Davis; deceased. Florence graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master's degree in history, taught Junior and Senior High School throughout the Granite School District and served an LDS Service Mission. She truly loved passing on bits of wit, wisdom and relatively obscure historical facts, and took great pleasure in completing complex crossword puzzles. She traveled the world and loved to share stories of her great adventures. Her greatest joy and legacy was giving her grandsons an unquenchable desire to learn. Nana never let them do anything until their homework was completed for the day - and for this, we will be forever grateful. Survived by her son, Marc J. Davis (Chantay); six grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Elva Nielsen, Vivian Stong, Wilford Jacobsen, Parley Jacobsen. Preceded in death by sons, Michael C. Schwab, Martin Charles Schwab, Jr.; sister, Crystal Christensen; and brother, T. Harold Jacobsen. A special thanks to everyone who helped our family through this difficult time---St. Marks Hospital, Caresource, and especially Bonnie Pettersson, our angel on earth. Graveside services will be Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to the LDS Missionary Fund.
