Emma G. Hansen Allgier 1918 ~ 2010
Emma George Hansen Allgier, age 92, passed away August 23, 2010. Born in Sandy, Utah, April 23, 1918, to John Llewelyn George and Emma Elizabeth Smith George. Step-daughter to Julius C. Hansen. Married William James Allgier, August 30, 1945. Graduate of Granite High School. Emma was a loyal and respected employee of Granite School District, retiring after 50 years of service. Emma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. She loved cooking, traveling, and directing the family. She made and enforced the "family rules," regularly reminding everyone, "remember the rules!" She loved music, dancing, and the high arts. She adored the roses from the garden her husband, Bill, planted and lovingly maintained for her. Survived by two daughters: Julie Anne (Grant L.) Iverson, Bountiful, Utah; and Shirley G. (William F.) McGinn, Marysville, Washington; two granddaughters: Marie E. (Christopher J.) Cregar and Molly A. (Mark R.) Law; three grandsons: Jason R. (Krystal) McGinn, Trevor W. Smith, and Nathan G. (Megan) Iverson; 10 great-grandchildren: Grace E. Cregar, Dylan J. Cregar, Parker Law, Ruby Law, Kraig Looney, Connor McGinn, Mason McGinn, Alexander A. Simmons, William J. Smith, and Serany E. Smith; one sister and brother-in-law: Beth (Capt. Kenneth R.) Burns; and in-laws: Clive Ahlstrom, John K. and Ruby Allgier, Pat Allgier, Pearl Allgier, and Bonnie J. Rufener. Preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, step-father, three brothers: Dell J., Robert V., and Andrew J. Hansen; two sisters: Lois Fallentine and Wanda Ahlstrom; and in-laws: Darwin L. Allgier, Marvin J. and Gladys Allgier, and Edward D. "Mike" Allgier. Special thanks for the dedication and exemplary care given by Dr. John Luras, Amy Migliore, Medical Assistant, the ICU staff at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, and the staff at CareSource Home Health and Hospice in Holladay, Utah. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 30, 2010, 12:00 noon, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive. Friends and relatives may call Sunday, August 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and one hour prior to graveside services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
