The Utah Museum of Fine Arts will host a free lecture by Latin American art expert Marion Oettinger Jr. titled "Stalking the Folk Art of Latin America," Sept. 1, 7 p.m., at the museum, 410 Campus Center Drive, Salt Lake City.
Provo's September "First Friday Gallery Stroll" will take place Friday, Sept. 3, 6-9 p.m., at the galleries on Center Street, University Avenue and nearby streets. Eleven galleries will be presenting art from local artists and serving free refreshments.

The fifth annual Great Basin Fiber Arts Fair will be held at the South Jordan Equestrian Park, 11400 S. 2200 West, South Jordan, Sept. 4-5. The event is free and open to the public. Hours are 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Sept. 4 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 5.
