"They Can't Take That Away From Me," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "I Got Rhythm," "Embraceable You." That long list of timeless Gershwin tunes complete the soundtrack for "Crazy for You" — a musical filled with the duo's lyrical tunes, set in Deadrock, Nev.
The Tuacahn Amphitheatre is the perfect setting for the desert show. Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930s playboy from a wealthy family, is being sent to the small Nevada town to foreclose on the Gaiety Theatre.
But, when he arrives, he falls in love with Polly, the theater owner's daughter, and he becomes involved in a plan to save the theater.
Filled with the lush soundtrack, plenty of tap-dancing feet and lots of beautiful girls, this award-winning musical is a wonderful homage to one of the greatest songwriting teams of the 20th century. The production stars Emily Rozek, Drew Humphrey, and Vincent D'Elia.
