COLORADO SPRINGS — The Salt Lake Bees scored six runs in the fourth inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit and went on to a 9-4 win over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Friday night.
The Bees fell behind in the bottom of the third on a three-run homer by Jay Payton but rallied in the fourth on a two-run triple by Alexi Amarista, who then scored on a wild pitch, a run-scoring double by Mark Trumbo and a two-run homer by Cory Aldridge. Terry Evans capped off the Bees' scoring with a two-run double in the fifth.
Eric Junge (5-2) picked up the win, as he allowed four runs on nine hits in 52?3 innings with five strikeouts. and one walk. Brian Stokes continued his rehab assignement with 11?3 scoreless innings and Jason Bulger, also on rehab, worked a scoreless eighth inning.
Amarista led the Bees with four hits and two RBIs, while Luis Figueroa and Mark Trumbo each added three hits and an RBI. Hank Conger had three hits and was a home run shy of the cycle, as the Bees snapped a three-game losing streak with just their second win in their last 10 games.
BEES WAX: On Friday, the Bees activated outfielder Cory Aldridge from the disabled list and reassigned infielder Dwayne Bailey to Single-A Cedar Rapids.Aldridge went on the DL July 30. 31, was placed on the DL with a right rib cage strain on July 30. He has appeared in 72 games for the Bees in 2010, hitting .314 with 20 doubles, 11 home runs and 56 RBIs. In five games for the Angels this season, he tallied a triple and one RBI. Bailey, 24, has appeared in nine games for the Bees in 2010, registering three hits and two RBIs. In 20 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga this season, he hit .239 with two doubles, one triple, 10 RBIs and five stolen bases. He has also appeared in 18 games for Cedar Rapids and three games for Double-A Arkansas in 2010. ... The Bees return home to begin their final regular-season homestand on Monday when they face the Fresno Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
