EPHRAIM — The Snow College Badgers will begin their 2010 football season against Columbia Basin, a team that comes from Washington State, today at home at 1:30 p.m.

KEPR-TV out of Washington reported that the Columbia Basin football program and the school were completely separate and that the team is part of the Northwest Community College Football League. The team is a start-up program which will make its debut this year, and its roster size is only 43 players compared to Snow's 125.

Snow, however, is not going to overlook any team.

"Our focus this week is Columbia Basin," said Badgers head coach Steve Coburn. "You've got to come and be ready to play every game."

Snow will begin the season with a preseason ranking of No. 8 in the NJCAA poll, but Snow's conference opponents include Arizona Western at No. 2 and Eastern Arizona at No. 16.

Coburn says that his team's goal is to win the conference championship.

"You have to be voted into that (national championship); that's out of our control," said Coburn. "If you win the conference, then you've got a chance."
