ELWOOD, Box Elder County — A 15-year-old girl was killed in a crash Saturday after the car she was in ran a stop sign south of Elwood.

Five teenagers, none wearing seat belts, were in an Oldsmobile Alero traveling east on 8000 North when it went through the intersection of state Route 13 and struck a northbound Chevrolet Silverado at about 3:30 p.m., according to a Utah Highway Patrol news release. The Alero ended up in an adjacent field, and the Silverado rolled on its side.

Madison Kimball, of Providence, who was in the back left seat of the Alero, was taken to Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton, where she was pronounced dead.

The front seat passenger, Celena Yeates, 18, of Elwood, was flown to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in critical condition. McKenzie Christoffersen, 16, of Hyde Park, was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in critical condition with abdominal pain.

Two other passengers — Hayden Hill, 18, of Logan, and Trevor Madson, 17, of North Logan — were treated for less serious injuries. The driver of the Silverado, Richard Rock, 69, of Tremonton, was treated at Brigham City Community Hospital and released.
