SALT LAKE CITY — A woman died early Sunday after her car plunged off a winding East Canyon road.
Crista Pearce, 37, of West Valley City, was upset and went for a drive to "cool down," according to Unified Police Lt. Don Hutson. He did not know if she had a particular destination in mind.
A group of hunters discovered her body and debris from Pearce's car at about 5 a.m. on a switchback on state Route 65, between Little Dell and East Canyon Reservoir, Hutson said. It appears the car flew off a switchback about 100 feet above, and Pearce was ejected, he said.
Investigators found the car about 300 feet farther down the mountain at the bottom of a ravine.
