Clyde William Daybell "Clancy"

Clyde Daybell, 84, passed Away 27 August 2010 in Salt Lake City.He was born 13 July 1926 in Magna, Utah to Ernest Daybell and Ednal Clyde Daybell he attended Cyprus High School. A decorated veteran, he served his country during World War II in the US Navy. He married Ruby Eckman 19 July 1948 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He enjoyed camping, music, the guitar, clocks, rock hounding and being with his family. Survived by: wife: Ruby, children: Brent (Karen) Daybell, Randy Daybell, Dennis Daybell, Annette (Cory) Hanson, Shauna (Chad) Lewis, 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in passing by: parents, sister Reve' Collings, grandaughter, Valerie Coon and grandson, Jerry Allison, Clyde loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and held many callings in the Church including Temple Service for over 24 years. He was proud of his children and loved to tease the grandkids. He played the guitar and loved to entertain the family. Many memories were made while sitting around campfires or at his knee at home while he sang and made up songs about each child. Nobody had a bigger sense of humor. He and Ruby spent 62 years together creating a legacy that will reach into the eternities. Family and friends are invited to a viewing Monday, August 30th, at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 South, West Valley City, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 31st, in the Lake Ridge 11th Ward, 7825 W. Sharon Dr. (3360 S.), at 12 noon, with a viewing one hour prior to services.
