Gordon A. Heinhold "Gordy"

Gordy Heinhold passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25th after a short illness. He was 91. Gordy was born in Salt Lake City on April 22nd, 1919 to Charles John Heinhold and Jennie Marie Franck. His father passed away when he was two-years-old. Gordy became very independent as a child. He learned a strong work ethic at an early age that he would later pass on to his children. He graduated from Granite High School. Gordy married, the "love of his life", Beatrice Goff, on June 5th 1942. He proudly served on the minesweeper USS Captivate in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. Gordy and Bea owned and operated All Transmission Products. They sold the business and retired which enabled them to travel and enjoy the things that they loved. This included many trips across the country to meet with their friends from the Mine Warfare Reunion. They also loved to travel to Phoenix and Los Angeles to "play the ponies". Gordy's other interests included gardening, golfing and fishing and hunting at the family cabin. He passed on many of these interests to his children. He also loved watching the Utah Jazz and the Bee's baseball teams. Gordy is survived by his daughter Linda (Bill) Cahoon, sons LaMar (Karen), Larry (Ann Marie) and Lee (Susan). He has nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Bea preceded him in death on January 4th, 2009. A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, August 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery (5490 South Vine Street) Funeral services are under the direction of Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
