Our cherished grandfather, father, husband, and friend, Claude Elmo Middleton, passed away at home Friday, August 27, 2010.He was born July 4, 1917 in Lewiston, Utah, to Wilford Woodruff Middleton and Josephine Cullum. Claude attended high school in Twin Falls, ID, and was a member of the football team and track team. He also attended the University of Utah and graduated in mechanical engineering. He was CEO of Kaman Industrial Technologies, as well as the head of Utah SBA and president of SCORE. He married Mildred Lenore Pardoe on June 4, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away on July 30th, 1993. Served in World War II, retired as a commander in the U.S. Navy. He was a seaman, fisherman, businessman, pilot and world traveler. Married Joy Hale on August 6, 1994 and inherited four children and several grand and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Joy Middleton, son Steven (Nancy) Middleton, stepchildren, Connie (Harry) Vanderbeek. Paul Hale. Grandchildren Jamie (Kevin) Tominey and TyAnne (Robbie) Crook, Brian Middleton and Angela Middleton; great grandchildren: Jessica (Aaron) Glazier, Magen Tominey, Curtis Tominey, Caitlin Tominey, Matthew Crook, Alexander Crook, Julius Middleton. Preceded in death by his eternal companion of 50 years, Mildred Lenore Middleton, stepchildren, Karen (Ford) Stevenson and David Hale, parents and siblings. Thank you for being such a good example and you will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 1st at 11:00 a.m. at River 8th Ward, 1229 W. 10775 S, South Jordan, UT. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. at the Ward Tuesday evening as well as from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service Wednesday.
