DRAPER — Corner Canyon will forever remember Tom Whipple, as the city's parks committee on Wednesday plans to pick a location for a monument bench for the canyon advocate.
Whipple was an avid outdoors-lover. He worked for the Alta Ski Lift Company as a facility manager and was a member of the Draper Parks and Trails Council for eight years.
When he died after a battle with cancer in July, his family asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Corner Canyon Regional Park Development Projects.
According to Brad Jensen, the city's trails director, a portion of the funds donated to the city for improvement in Corner Canyon will cover a monument bench.
