WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: The Wolverines will make the trip up to Salt Lake City Tuesday evening in search of its first victory of the season as it takes on Utah. Later in the week, UVU will host Air Force (Friday at 4 p.m.) and Fresno State (Saturday at 1 p.m.).

The Wolverines (0-3) are coming off of a winless opening tournament of the 2010 season as UVU fell in its three matches at the Missouri Tiger Invitational last weekend. UVU lost 3-1 to Nevada and 3-0 to Maryland and host Mizzou. Senior libero Kathleen Stevens had a good showing for the Wolverines though as she was named to the Tiger Invitational All-Tournament team.

Utah (1-1) defeated UC Davis 3-1 in its opening match last weekend before dropping a 3-1 decision to Utah State at home. The Utes finished 17-12 (10-6 MWC) and missed out on the NCAA Tournament a year ago. UVU defeated the No. 17 ranked-Utes last season by a score of 3-1 in Orem. The win over Utah was UVU's first win over a nationally ranked program and its first win against the Utes as Utah holds a 6-1 all-time series lead.

Air Force (1-2) opened the season last weekend at home as they hosted the Falcon Invitational. AFA picked up its lone victory over Long Island by a score of 3-2. The Falcons two defeats came from South Dakota State and Boise State both by 3-1 scores. AFA finished 8-21 overall in 2009 and 0-16 in the Mountain West Conference. The Falcons and Wolverines have only met one previous time, as Air Force defeated UVU 3-2 on Sept. 10, 2005, in Ogden.
