Coleen Ann Moore Orton, passed away peacefully at her home in Panguitch on Monday, August 30, 2010 after a long battle with pulmonary disease. She was an adored wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and dear friend. Her family was her most prized possession - always were and always will be. Their tears were her tears and their joy was her joy. Coleen was born September 21, 1936 in Henrieville, the only daughter of Dewey and Eliza Moxen Moore. She spent her childhood years in Henrieville and always loved that little town. She married her eternal sweetheart, Gary H. Orton, September 23, 1955 in the Manti Temple. She graduated from Panguitch High School in 1953 and attended business school at College of Southern Utah now known as Southern Utah Univeristy in Cedar City. Her classmates and friends were always dear to her. Coleen, along with her sweetheart, owned and operated the Best Western Motel in Panguitch for many years. The moments that brought her the most joy were traveling, shopping, and buying pretty clothes and gifts for her family and many others. She loved cook-outs at Red Canyon and family get-togethers of any kind. She had a great love for her brothers and all of her extended family. Coleen is survived by her husband, Gary of Panguitch; children: Dwaine (Linda) Orton of St. George, Gaylene (Than) Cooper, Kelly Orton and David Orton all of Panguitch, Harold (Rena) Orton of Mt. Pleasant, Holly (Jared) Pedersen of Cedar City; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Lige (Cindy) Moore of Maine, Ward (LaRae) Moore of Kanab, Birch (Kelley) Moore of Maine; sisters-in-law LaVenda Moore and Sharon Moore, both of Panguitch. Coleen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kerry, Harold, Harvey, Bill, Keith, Kirk. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Panguitch Stake Center, 550 S. 100 W., Panguitch. Friends may call at the stake center in Panguitch Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10:30 until 12:30. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery.
