Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Astrid Larsen Johansen passed away at age 96 Saturday August 28th, 2010 She was born August 9, 1914 in Oslo, Norway, to Carl Oskar and Mina Magdelina Pattersen Larsen. She married Wilford John Johansen in 1936 in Oslo, Norway. They had two sons, Roy Wilford and Terry Richard. In 1948 Astrid along with her husband Wilford and her two sons immigrated to the United States making their home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending the Norwegian Branch in Salt Lake City and later the Brookshire Ward. She loved her membership in the church and had a strong testimony. She had a strong work ethic and was a seamstress by trade. She love to sew, knit and crochet. She kept busy making sweaters, blankets and dolls and shared them with loved ones. She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband Wilford, and all her siblings; sisters Borghild, Hjordis, brothers Johan, Peter, Svere and Rolf. She is survived by her two sons Roy Wilford (Denise) of Park City, Terry Richard (Arlene) of Midvale, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchil dren, brother and sister-in-law Hakon and Lilly Lovestad, sister-in-law Hildur Johansen, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rolf and Lorraine Johansen and nieces and nephews in Norway and Sweden. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Sept. 1st, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
