James Edward Blevins 1943 ~ 2010
Jim passed away Saturday morning, August 28, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington surrounded by his family.He was born on May 15, 1943 to Edward R. and Velma J. Blevins in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Granite High School in Utah and then enlisted in the Air Force in 1960 receiving an honorable discharge in 1964. He was employed by Clark County PUD, Sept, 1978 retiring in June 2007. Jim spent his adult life in the Vancouver area, returning to Utah to attend family functions and high school class reunions. He found great enjoyment in his later years reuniting with friends and classmates. He enjoyed his many good friends, always quick to share a story, laugh or help if needed. This was truly his gift. He married Kathy Jones in July of 1964 and they had two children, Bruce and Kim who reside in the Vancouver area. He and Kathy divorced and remained friends enjoying their children and grandchildren. Married Barbara Bozeman in 1986 and later divorced. Jim is survived by his son Bruce and his daughter Kim (Todd) Turpin, three grandchildren, Kylie, Olivia and Gavin; sister Helen (Ned) Utley and brother Woody (Jill) Blevins and his nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be Friday, September 3, 2010, 12:30 p.m. in Vancouver, Washington at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Avenue, (360) 892-6060. A private interment will be held prior to the memorial service at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
