REXBURG, Idaho — The graduates of Brigham Young University-Idaho's newly established dance major got a taste of the real world as part of their capstone project they directed and choreographed a dance program on their own. The Senior Dance Recital was July 15.

"I am usually in the performance," said Brooke Child, a graduation senior who is a dance major. "Now I am the director backstage, choreographing the dance, placing the dancers, working with the lighting specialist and meeting with the costume designer.I have more respect for dance directors now that I am in their shoes."

The Senior Dance Recital serves as a celebration of the dancers' graduation, skills and experience at BYU-Idaho. The university began offering dance as a major in 2008.
