Joseph Lindsey Bentley born August 11, 1938 in Virden, NM passed away August 6, 2010 after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer.Joseph was always a hard working man, often working two or more jobs at a time to support his family. He loved his job as a maintenance /repairman for Granite School District. He was always good-natured and quick with a joke, and he always had a story. He loved his family and his dogs. He was a talented singer.
Joseph was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many
positions including Scout Master, member of the Bishopric, Sunday School Presidency, Sunday School teacher, and faithful home teacher.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard I. Bentley, his mother Oleta Gladney Bentley, his brother Val Bentley, and his son Jared T. Bentley. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Ann Hanson Bentley, daughter Jody Johnson, daughter Billie Brown, son Samuel Bentley (Melanie), daughter Juliann Rogers (Fred), son Mark Bentley (Diane), son Michael Bentley, daughter Rachael B. Goode (Rod), son Matthew Bentley (Traci), daughter-in-law Andree Bentley, and son Adam Bentley, as well as 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Jordan 3rd Ward, 8950 S. 400 E. A viewing will be held Monday, August 9, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S.) and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church.
