MURRAY — The Make-A-Wish Foundation is in need of frequent flier miles to help make wishes come true.
Through pooled flier miles from many donors, the Make-A-Wish Foundation says it is able to grant travel wishes to children across the world, wishes that require an estimated 2.5 billion airline miles yearly.
“A contribution of frequent flier miles to the Make-A-Wish Foundation is one of the most direct ways to help make a difference in the life of a child with a life-threatening medical condition,” said David Williams, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, in a press release. “The mileage the foundation receives will help provide experiences that wish children and their families will cherish for a lifetime.”
Last year, the foundation granted 137 wishes to Utah children with life-threatening medical condition. Seventy percent of those wishes involved travel.
