DEQUINCY, La. — Work is underway to repair a Louisiana hospital damaged in a recent tornado.
Hospital officials told The American Press (http://bit.ly/v1LBtl) they hope DeQuincy Memorial Hospital will be back in full operation within a month.
Kashia Spears, a hospital administrative assistant, says crews will work through the holidays to repair damage to the inpatient wing after Tuesday's tornado ripped off part of the roof.
Spears said the hospital's emergency room has remained open, and the hospital will continue to offer outpatient services such as X-rays.
Insurance representatives were at the hospital this week estimating the cost of the damage.
The hospital has employed Signature Group to handle repairs. According to its website, Signature Group is based in Port Neches, Texas, and specializes in disaster recovery.
