Bernece Ann Bryant Stradley"Necey"Beloved daughter, mother, grand- mother, sister, aunt & friend was unexpectedly received into the arms of her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at St. Marks Hospital just steps from where she spent decades as an RN bringing babies into this world. Her passing was the result of an intense 24 hour battle where she was surrounded by her family, culminating in multi-system organ failure. She was born on July 31, 1953 in Provo, Utah to James B. and Jacquelyn Faulkner Bryant. Necey grew up in Dugway & Murray, Utah where she graduated from Murray High. She moved to Hawaii and married Stanley E. Stradley on December 28, 1974. Together they created 3 beautiful children. After the birth of her first child, she completed her nursing degree at Westminster College and worked as an RN at St. Mark's Hospital. While pregnant with her 3rd child, she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease. After conquering cancer, she went back to St. Mark's Hospital where she worked as a labor & delivery nurse again until Progressive Degenerative Optic Neuropathy left her legally blind in 1995. Upon leaving her chosen profession, she turned her passion for helping others toward those lacking sight by volunteering her time accepting a position as the President of the Utah Council of the Blind for multiple terms.She was preceded in death by her father, James; brother, David; and grandson, David. She is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn; son Ryan (Melissa); daughter, Debby Yates (Jesse); daughter, Amy; brothers, James, William & Matthew; sister, Patricia; Navajo foster brother, Charlie McCabe; 4 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Murray 12th LDS Ward located at 363 E. Vine Street. A viewing for family and friends will be tonight, Friday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So.
