NAUVOO, Ill. — The second annual Untold Nauvoo Stories Gathering will be Feb. 3-4 at the Joseph Smith Historic Site Visitors Center in Nauvoo, Ill.
The event promotes the sharing of lesser-known accounts of the people and events that make Nauvoo a significant element of the nation's story. The 2012 program includes, among others, stories about the Native American, Mormon, Icarian and Catholic families. In addition to storytelling sessions, there will be a banquet with cowboy poetry and fiddle music, followed by a keynote presentation on the changing vision for today's "Williamsburg of the Midwest." Reservations for the banquet are due by Jan. 30.
The event is hosted by the Nauvoo Historical Society, the Joseph Smith Historic Site, Historic Nauvoo, the Nauvoo Tourism Office and the City of Nauvoo.
