SALT LAKE CITY— The Utah Symphony will bring "Video Games Live!" to Salt Lake City audiences again on Friday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. in Abravanel Hall. The performance will feature music from some of the most popular video games, including new music from "Zelda," "Sonic," "Halo," "Tetris" and "Final Fantasy," to name a few.

The "Video Games Live!" concert event was created by Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, who have been heavily involved in the video game industry and video game music composition.

Conductor Emmanuel Fratianni from the "Video Games Live!" concert event staff will join the symphony for the evening, along with the Snow College Choir. Songs will range from old retro arcade classics to the modern console hits and will be accompanied by an exciting visual show with video clips, synchronized lighting and special effects. Performances by soloists and electronic percussionists are also scheduled, along with interactive segments inviting people from the audience to compete on stage.

Concert attendees can also participate in a preshow festival of game demonstrations and costume contests and a meet-n-greet after the show, where they can meet industry designers and creators, composers and sound designers, performers and special guests.

Tickets range from $28 to $85 and can be purchased by calling 801-355-2787, in person at the Abravanel Hall ticket office (123 W. South Temple) or by visiting www.usuo.org. For season ticket holders or to get group discounts, call 801-533-6683. Ticket prices will increase $5 when purchased on the day of the performance.
