In Memory ofMarilyn Gayle Turner Ririe9/23/1931 ~ 12/20/2011An elect lady of God was called home on the evening of Dec. 20, 2011. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Marilyn was born Sept. 23, 1931 in Salt Lake City to Elmer and Mae Turner. She attended Hawthorne Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and was a proud graduate of the South High School class of 1949.She married the love of her life, Bruce Ririe, on Jan. 9, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder Harold B. Lee. Six weeks later, she sent him off to serve a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After he returned, their home was blessed with 4 children: Ronnie, Linda, Todd and Joni.Holidays, family gatherings and travelling were Marilyn's passions. She loved sharing her joys of holidays with family and all those close to her. They traveled to Europe, Canada, most of the 50 US states. They had more family parties and activities than you could count. Together, she and Bruce attended most of the children's and grandchildren's school programs and sports games.Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and sister Bonnie Brooks.Marilyn was loved dearly and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Bruce, sons Ronnie (Jane) and Todd Ririe, daughters Linda (Steve) Luthi and Joni (Danny) Simmons, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grand children with 2 on the way.A viewing will be held Mon, Dec 26th from 6-8 PM at the Mountain View Memorial Mortuary 3115 E. Bengal Blvd. Services will be held on Tues. Dec. 27th at the Willow Creek 9th Ward house, 2350 E Creek Rd. Cottonwood Heights Ut. at 11AM. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
