Kay Goode1944 ~ 2011Hurricane, UtahKay Goode, age 67, passed away December 21, 2011, at his home, with his loving wife by his side. He was born September 18, 1944, in American Fork, Utah, to Harold and Josie Woffinden Goode. Kay married Jackie L. Hampton January 5, 1986, in Highland, Utah.Kay was born and raised in American Fork, graduating from American Fork High School class of 1962. After high school, he joined the National Guard and served from 1963-1965. Kay worked as a Commercial Sheet Metal Fabricator at Schoppe Company for 42 years in Salt Lake City. He spent the last 30 years as the General Manager before his retirement in 2007.Kay raised Paint and Quarter horses which he showed throughout the Intermountain area. He also loved to ride his horses in the mountains and enjoyed the outdoors.Kay was an avid hiker, having hiked the Grand Canyon twice from the North to South Rim. He enjoyed jeeping, traveling and golfing at Sand Hollow.Kay dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He was patient, diligent, humble and creative and was loved very much. He was an AMAZING MAN who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Hurricane, UT; children, Rusty (Jenny) Goode of Altamont, UT and Shawnie (Andy) Drury of Goshen, UT; grandchildren, Shayla, Landon, Dillon, Daycee and Brody; sister, Marrian Robison of Salt Lake City, UT. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Josie; two brothers, Stan Goode and Jerry Goode; one sister, Micky Rivera; and brother-in-law, Gary Robison.The family would like to express their appreciation to Dixie Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, UT. There will be a viewing Wednesday, from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. prior to services at the Mortuary.
