William Max Wright1920 ~ 2011William Max Wright passed away peacefully at the age of 91, in the late afternoon of Dec. 17, 2011, at Carrington Court Assisted Living in South Jordan, Utah, where he resided for two months.Bill was born Oct.28, 1920 to John Sydnee Wright, and Anne Catherine Jorgensen in Nephi, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents, parents in law and four brothers and sisters, including Helen Crump (Milt), Ken Wright (Mae), Bernice Smith (Bud), and Blanch Wright. He is survived by two sisters: Kaye (and the late Dick Price of Orem), and Shirley (and the late Henry Taylor of Magna).William was married August 12, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple to Fern Folster. They were happily married for 56 years, when Fern passed away 8 years ago in Hurricane, UT. They have four children: Gerry W. Young of West Jordan, Steven Wright (Elaine) of Adams, Tennessee, Blaine C. Wright, and Paul A. Wright from Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by 9 grandchildren: Alisha Doom, Erica Schifsky, Wendy Huff, Curtis Wright, Travis Wright, Holly Stone, Seth Wright, Livia Senese Taylor, Jeshua Wright and Sophia Wright. He also leaves 12 great- grandchildren.After Fern's passing in 2003, he married Patricia Davison of Santa Clara, Utah on Oct. 1, 2005. William was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in numerous callings including 3 Bishoprics, Financial Ward and Stake Clerk, and as a Stake Missionary. He loved serving in the temple, and at the LDS fruit orchard in Hurricane, UT.William loved his country, and served in the Navy during WWII. He took advantage of his training there and used it to pursue a career as an electrical engineer. He loved his career with Mountain Bell Telephone, Lenkurt Electric in San Carolos, CA., and GTE in San Angelo TX. As a part of his career, he was proud to have visited all 50 states and the North Pole (to repair the electrical system on the NIKE missiles). He moved many times to further his career, including Salt Lake City, UT, Boise, ID., Denver, CO, Redwood City, CA., and San Angelo, TX. Fern and Bill treasured the many friends and neighbors they met and loved in these locations. William was a hard worker, loved serving his family, neighbors and friends, and loved his woodworking craft of making furniture, building homes, and repairing cars. He kept busy from early in the morning until late at night. Our two family mottos are "Plan Your Work, and Work Your Plan," and "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing WRIGHT."William will be honored at a viewing on Dec. 27, 2011 at Jenkins Soffe Mortuary (1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy in South Jordan, Utah) from 6:30-8:30 PM. His funeral will be held Dec. 28 in Nephi, Utah in the LDS Church, located at 1125 North 400 East at 11:00 AM directly across the street at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, UT.The family wishes to thank Carrington Court Assisted Living for the kind, caring attention he received, and to Vista Care Hospice who made his last 2 weeks comfortable.
