Marjorie Janet James Tibbs1926 ~ 2011Manti, UTMarjorie Janet James Tibbs passed away December 22, 2011 in Manti, Utah of natural causes. Born in Salt Lake City October 29, 1926, she was the daughter of David Albert James and Edith Rachel Bullough.Marjorie married Don V. Tibbs in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints June 14, 1948.She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, retired Utah District Judge Don V. Tibbs, and five children: Claudia Killian (Jeff), Cynthia Lopez (Amado), David Tibbs (Carol), Robert Tibbs (Rae Ann), Janet Loureiro (Joao). She is revered by her 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her surviving sisters are Darlene Evans (Ralph deceased), Betty Layton (Bob), Connie Hiwiller (Howard) and JoAnn Donaldson (Jim). She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy James.Having lived a life of service, Marjorie is credited with an immense love of her family, church and friends. She was a faithful member of the American Legion Auxiliary and "Forty-met-n-et". She was awarded a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28th at 12 Noon in the Manti Utah Stake Center, 555 E. Union Street. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Stake Center and also prior to services on Wed from 10-11:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the Manti City Cemetery.
