Merry Anne Floyd "Life's a trip, man!"Merry Anne Johnson Floyd passed away December 21, 2011 at her home in Sandy, Utah. She was born in Berkley, California on December 1, 1946 to Shirley Alan and Betty Harrell Johnson. She was raised in Sacramento and graduated from McClatchy High and attended Sacramento Jr. College. Her family later moved to Ukiah in the Mendocino wine country.She met her future husband, Charles D. Floyd, who is the love of her life, in Salt Lake City, Utah where they were married. They started and ran a very successful insurance business for over 35 years. Merry Anne was very astute in the industry. She was an agent for several companies in Utah and California and was highly respected by all she worked with.One of Merry Anne's passions was golf. She was a very accomplished golfer, receiving an award for hitting the women's longest drive at the Bob Hope Tournament at Jeremy Ranch. She enjoyed photography, boating, water skiing, Sundance Film Festivals, gardening, reading and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She had a real flair for fashion and her beauty always shined through. She always looked like a million bucks! Merry Anne was a hopeless romantic. She was admired by all who knew her. She was a lady with a lot of class and grace, but held a warm glow that was felt the moment she entered the room.Merry Anne is survived by her snug-bunny, Charlie, of Sandy; her mother, Betty Johnson, of CO; a brother, Michael Johnson of KY; a sister, Peggy Anderson of CA; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Alan Johnson and her daughter, Amiee Marie Floyd.A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, December 29th, 11:00 a.m. at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 So. 900 E. where friends and family are gathering one hour prior. Merry Anne would want all of us to Love, Laugh, and Celebrate!
