Mary Dickerson 1920 ~ 2011Our loving mother, Mary Elizabeth Brown Dickerson passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2011 in the comfort of her own home. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren and is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Mary was born February 5, 1920 in her parent's home on Blaine Avenue, SLC, Utah, daughter of Dallas and Maud Brown. She graduated from South High School and worked many seasons at Sun Valley and Yellowstone Resort where she met her loving husband, Dick. They were married in Hailey, Idaho on November 5, 1939. Together they had 9 children and raised their family in Rose Park. Mary worked for the County Treasurer office after Dick passed away in 1968 and retired after 25 years of service. She was a devoted mother and her children where the greatest joy of her life. She loved spending time with them and enjoyed holidays, birthdays and many family trips.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, her parents, her siblings, and her daughter, Bonnie (Robert) Johnson. She is survived by her children; Terry Dickerson, Sue Ann (Ken) Larsen, Thomas (Kelli) Dickerson, Ray (Sue) Dickerson, Boulder, CO, Robert Dickerson, Cathy Tuttle, Portland, OR, Scott (LeAnn) Dickerson, Kaysville, Utah and Lisa Poore'. Mary has 16 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kate Wilson who assisted Mary in her care for many years and most recently Dr. Allison Kierstead.A viewing for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, SLC, Utah from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on December 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Rose Park North Stake Center, 1155 West 1200 North, SLC, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to funeral services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
