I wonder if the Davis County School District has lost sight of what is important in an effort to accommodate working parents and school day quotas instead of considering the safety of the faculty and students. After the recent wind storm, the district refused to cancel the educational day despite the lack of power to schools and the unsafe conditions.

Multiple buses had broken windows and debris was hurtled at high speed causing damage. In one of the most damaging wind storms we have ever seen, it took a law enforcement override to close the schools in Centerville.

Other cities did not see closures and had kids in schools without power and with no prospect of a decent lunch. In the future, we should consider the safety of our children and the faculty of the schools above all else.
