Carma Hansen Allen1927 ~ 2011On the morning of their 65th wedding anniversary, Mama and Daddy were reunited to dance together again after almost eight years. Carma Hansen Allen of Orem, Utah, was born March 27, 1927 in Centerfield, Sanpete County, Utah, to Charles Savaren Hansen and Mary Alvira Westover Hansen. She married Carling Dorr Allen on December 23, 1946 in the Manti Temple. Their marriage was blessed with eleven children: Lynette (deceased), Bruce (Laura) Allen, Darlynn (Larry) Tolman, Jeannine (David) Thomas, Nanette (Steve) Averett, Minon (Tom) Smith, Lavon (Nan) Allen, Thalia (Marty) Mansfield, Patrice (Ken) Bretschneider, Elise (Richard) Warner, and Carol (deceased), along with 69 grandchildren and 91 great-grandchildren. Of her five sisters, Carma is survived by Helen Hill of Orem and Ardyth (Doyle) West of Castro Valley, California.Carma was ultimately a wife and mother who graciously nurtured and loved. She was the perfect example of charity, serenity, and compassion. Her life was filled with gratitude. Among her most precious memories are those of missions served with Carling in Nauvoo and Palmyra. She taught us to see the beauty in each flower, appreciate the bounty of a tenderly cared for garden, recognize the worth of each precious child and discern the goodness in others. Most of all, she taught us to love our Savior, Jesus Christ, and serve Him. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at the Geneva Heights Stake Center, 546 N. 500 W. Orem, Utah. Viewings will be held one hour prior to the funeral services on Thursday, as well as on Wednesday, December 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State St. in Orem.
