Obituary: KEARL, NITA

Nita Renee Rowe Kearl 1948 ~ 2011Nita Renee Rowe Kearl was a loving, kind, generous, stubborn woman whose brief life was cut short by illness Friday December 23, 2011. Nita touched the hearts and lives of the many whose paths she crossed with her giving personality. Nita began her journey of life on March 7, 1948, in Salt Lake City, the daughter of John Paul Rowe and Faye Rowe. Nita met her sweetheart Clayton at Roosevelt Junior High School, and they were married on February 14, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. Nita did not have an easy life; she lost three of her six children, two in a car accident and one to illness. She, along with her loving husband, turned to a life of service to help make it through the pain of losing children. Nita was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She showed her love and faith by volunteering for twelve years teaching institute at the Utah State Prison - women's branch, where she made many friends, "her girls". For the last eighteen months, she was a volunteer at the Paradise Branch at River Meadows retirement community where she loved the people and especially enjoyed playing card games with the residents. Grandma could always be found at the end of her long kitchen table playing games or just watching, with proud eyes, her beautiful grandkids. Nita is survived by her husband Clayton, 3 sons and their spouses Troy and Mina, Dustin and Stephanie, Devin and Melisa; 11 grandchildren Josua, Elle, Sunny, Rowebin, Caitlyn, Trent, Evan, Davis, Jillian, Ethan and baby Noah; brother Paul. She was preceded in death by her daughter Brandalee; sons Rowe Trenton and Tobin James; parents John Paul Rowe and Faye Rowe and special dog Shadow. Our family invites you to share with us in the celebration of her life at a viewing Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 6 pm-8 pm at the LDS Chapel on 327 South Long Drive, Alpine Utah, 84004, and a viewing at 10:45-11:45 followed by the funeral at 12 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 10945 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah. Just as she embraced everyone, we embrace Nita in our hearts. It was a true privilege to know her. Thank you for being a part of our lives, Mom (Nita). We will forever miss you. Families are forever!
