GRAPEVINE, Texas — Investigators are trying to piece together a family history after a man dressed in a Santa Claus suit apparently shot six relatives in a Texas apartment before turning the gun on himself Christmas Day.
Police in Grapevine, a quiet suburb of Fort Worth, say the identities of the victims would likely be released Tuesday.
Grapevine police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling says the shooter showed up in the costume shortly before gunfire erupted inside the apartment, and that the family appeared to have been opening Christmas presents.
Police responding to a 911 call found the bodies of four women, two men and a teenage boy. They also found two handguns.
Eberling says investigators were assembling a "family history," and that the apartment was leased to a woman and her two children.
