DALLAS — Penn State has opened its bowl preparations without quarterback Matt McGloin in uniform.

McGloin was in street clothes Tuesday when the Nittany Lions started practice at a Dallas-area high school. Before Christmas, he hit his head during a locker-room scuffle with receiver Curtis Drake. He went into seizure and sustained a concussion.

Interim coach Tom Bradley says McGloin will be tested and worked out by team doctors daily to see if he can play against Houston on Monday in the TicketCity Bowl.

Drake was not with the team Tuesday, but Bradley said his absence was for personal matters and he is still on the team.
