She was born November 6, 1926 in Sherman, Texas to Edward Marcus Berset and Emma Christine Westlund. At the age of eight her family relocated to Cloquet, Minnesota where she graduated from Cloquet High School in 1944. She moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1944 and married Donald Edward Ausman on September 20, 1947 and had five children during 25 years of marriage. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1991 and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where she enjoyed many years of playing golf and being surrounded by friends and family. Billie was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cheyenne. In 2010 she relocated to Utah where she resided until her death. Billie was an incredibly strong woman who faced whatever life dealt her with a positive attitude. She was a staunch supporter of her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Billie never missed an important event even if it required an eight hour drive across the windy plains of Wyoming. She made friends very quickly wherever she was and she loved sports of any kind, but especially baseball, the Colorado Rockies and the Diamondbacks. Billie had a special talent for attracting small children to her and everyone's dogs loved her. She opened her home to countless people and was always waiting for family with a pot of "Billie Chili" on the stove and banana pudding in the fridge. Her beautiful blue eyes sparkled upon the arrival of visitors. She was always grateful for any kindness shown her. Her wonderful spirit for life and her constant love will be greatly missed.
